Zuben's Birthday Weekend at the Trout Lodge in Potosi, Missouri

This was our view from our room ... not bad, huh?!

Also the view from our balcony ...

Feeding the fish

Zofia enjoying a minute on papas lap

While Zuben and Ross went to a "Rocket Building" workshop,
Zofia and I went to explore the grounds

Playtime is always on the agenda, this at the playground by the lake

This is the rocket he built, and always proudly wearing his "Navy" shirt

Watching as the guide sets up the rocket to launch it

10...9...8... you know the rest, LAUNCH!
And yes, Zuben had to make it more dramatic by counting from 10 instead of starting at 3 ...
Zuben will one day be an Oscar winner, mark my words!

No, you don't have to rub your eyes, my picture is in fact out of focus. But I posted it anyway because Zuben had so much fun on the pedal boats, we all did!

Zofia and I, on our own pedal boat

Tweedledee and Tweedledum ready in gear for the pony rides

She had never before ridden a pony, but she had been looking forward to it for a week and she was not hesistant or disappointed as you can see

Against my better judgment, and forcing myself to set my female vanity aside, I'm posting this picture. There is no hidding how tired I was. But I never get to be in the picture, always behind the lens, and in this one in particular Zofia is ever so cute.

Zuben a veteran of pony rides, added this to his list of pony rides to remember

This is just too hilarious and shows how as of late, Zofia has been showing her ever goofier side, she is a Zuben mini-me no doubt

I don't know why my kids love posing in these, whatchamacallits (was that too mexican? hahaha!), but they do, they ask for a picture whenever they spot one, cheap thrills I say!

Ross, Zofia and Zuben went for a ride around the lake on a pontoon. I took this picture from the balcony of our room. I stayed behind because I felt ill. =-(

Ross and Zuben took an archery class together

It was a success!!!

And before heading home, we squeezed in a trip to the Nature Center and checked out some snakes, bunny, turtles, tortoises, chinchillas, tarantulas, lizards or several sorts, etc. you get the picture. Either way, too make snakes for my taste, so I don't know where Zofia gets the guts to touch them. I'll pass thanks!

And although not pictured, we also took a short ride on a canoe and a short hike on the trails. All in all a nice trip away from the city, and Zuben felt special that it was on the weekend of his birthday. He said, although keep in mind what I said before about his acting abilities, that it was his best birthday EVER!
